Oregon lawmaker wants to expand emergency housing program for people with addictions

Rep. Pam Marsh, D-Ashland, is proposing a $10 million bill to expand waitlist emergency housing statewide, providing shelter for people with addictions while they await residential treatment. The program, already successful in southern Oregon, has helped 63% of participants transition directly into treatment, addressing critical gaps in addiction care. (Salem Reporter)

Under new owner, Salem Golf Club holds onto its history and stays open to the public

Salem Golf Club, founded in 1926 and owned by the Kay family for nearly a century, has transitioned to new ownership under Richard Kreitzberg, a longtime family friend and Salem businessman. The club will remain open to the public, with plans for conservation-focused maintenance, improved facilities, and expanded hours under the new management team. (Salem Reporter)

Impact this year: Matched 120 mentors with mentees, hosted 15 community outreach events, and expanded music and media programs for youth in Salem.

Current project: Expanding the "Mentoring Matters" program to reach more young men in the community.
